Azhar has over 22 years of experience in audit and assurance, gained in Pakistan and the UAE. He joined Grant Thornton Saudi Arabia in 2012, having previously worked for Anjum Asim Shahid Rahman (now Grant Thornton Anjum Rahman) in Pakistan, a member firm of Grant Thornton International Limited.
Azhar manages assurance engagements for a diverse client base across the Kingdom, specialising in audit, risk assessment, and financial reporting. He has extensive experience in multiple sectors, including leasing, insurance (and insurance brokers), construction, brokerage, asset management, mutual funds, manufacturing, IT, aviation, hospitality, real estate, textiles, and not-for-profit organisations.
In addition to traditional audit and assurance work, Azhar has provided advisory and non-assurance services to clients, supporting business process improvements, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting frameworks. His broad experience enables him to address the complex financial and operational challenges faced by organisations in both the private and public sectors.
