Mohammed is the Director of Grant Thornton’s VAT compliance and advisory team based in Riyadh and he brings over 18 years of relevant experience. He holds a master’s degree in Accounting.
Mohammed is a Certified Public Accountant in Jordan (JCPA) and a VAT Specialist from SOCPA, and he has experience in VAT, Tax, and RETT in both Jordan and KSA.
Prior to joining Grant Thornton Mohammed was an academic lecturer at many Jordanian and Saudi universities for 4 years. Prior to that, he was a Senior Tax Auditor in the Income & Sales Tax Department in Jordan for more than 7 years. Prior to joining the Tax Department in Jordan, Mohammed worked at the Housing Bank - Jordan, as part of the new banking system implementation team.
Mohammed set up an indirect tax department at Grant Thornton in KSA and led many VAT implementation projects, he also provided VAT compliance services, indirect tax & REET advisory, TDD, and dispute resolutions with ZATCA and GSTC authorities.
During his experience, he has worked in a wide range of sectors which includes manufacturing, retail, healthcare, education, professional services, transportation, and real estate.
